At the request of Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) has launched an internship referral center. The website, www.internshipcenter.mhec.maryland.gov, is intended to serve as a clearinghouse, providing students with information on internships in Maryland’s BRAC-impacted areas. MHEC is working with college career placement centers around the state to advertise these internship opportunities to Maryland’s over 250,000 students.

Businesses are encouraged to visit the site and list their internship availabilities for the next year. The site provides for the input of detailed information about internships, such as internship work descriptions, security clearance requirements, GPA, education requirements, and instructions for applying.  Firms with internship websites can link directly to their existing website.

For further information or help with the we bsite, please contact Dr. John Stephenson, phone 410-260-4531 or by email, jstephen@mhec.state.md.us.
