Upon conclusion of Col. Kenneth O. McCreedy's term as Base Commander at Fort George G. Meade, the Fort Meade Alliance established a scholarship in his name at Meade High School. Those who know Ken McCreedy understand that he feels education is an extremely important component for the success of our region and the Fort Meade Alliance honored his dedication with this scholarship.
This year, the Fort Meade Alliance, in partnership with Ken, set criteria for the scholarship, which will be awarded to a student at Meade High School in the Homeland Security Signature Program/STEM/Project Lead the Way curriculum. Please click here to review the criteria for the scholarship recipient.
We would like to have the Scholarship endowed by the Spring of 2012, when the first graduating class from the Homeland Security Signature Program at Meade will graduate. So it is imperative that the McCreedy Scholarship have your support to provide an education for our future workforce.
For the second year, the West County Rotary is sponsoring their Annual Bull and Oyster Roast, with proceeds going to scholarships at Meade High. The sponsorships have been altered to allow companies to donate their entire sponsorship to the McCreedy Scholarship, which many Fort Meade Alliance businesses requested to support workforce needs in our region.
The Fort Meade Alliance would like to request your support to become a sponsor for this event on Nov. 5. There are three levels of Sponsorships and we urge your company to participate this year. If your company would like to become a Sponsor and would be unable to use the tickets provided with the Sponsorship level, those tickets could be donated to the school employees who attend the event.
