In our continuing efforts to support Fort George G. Meade, the Fort Meade Alliance wanted to pass on two important events that will benefit the community.

Fort Meade Earth Day - April 14

Fort Meade is looking for businesses to showcase how they are helping sustain the environment for a secure future during Fort Meade Earth Day celebration on Thursday, April 14, 2011. The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Burba Park, Fort Meade.

This is a great opportunity for you to show the community what you are doing to help the environment. You will have a dedicated Fort Meade audience, have the ability to enhance your reputation within the community, and the opportunity to learn from and partner with other organizations on new initiatives.

"Old Joe" Golf Tournament - April 29

The Fort Meade Officers' Spouses' Club (OSC) is hosting its 6th annal "Old Joe" Golf Tournament at the Course of Fort Meade on April 29, 2011.

The OSC is a  U.S. Military sponsored, non-profit organization chartered to support the local surrounding community and service members assigned to Fort Meade.  It is comprised of service member spouses who volunteer their time and energy to better the community through fundraising and community service events.  Last year, they were able to raise over $23,000.00 and gave back to our community in the form of scholarships and welfare grants through their fundraising efforts.

The golf tournament represents a major fundraising effort to fund scholarships and organizations that benefit the men and women of our Armed Forces who give so much to our nation.

The OSC is looking for organizations to participate in the golf tournament as a tournament sponsors or sponsors of holes. The tournament is also in need of donations for contests and door prizes.
