As a result of the 2005 BRAC legislation, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Defense Media Activities and DoD Consolidated Adjudication Activities are moving operations to Fort George G. Meade. Nearly 5,700 people are expected to move to Fort Meade as a direct result of BRAC. The Fort Meade Alliance has continued to step up to help in the transition in assisting those who are considering a move to the area. In October 2010, the Fort Meade Alliance organized and manged the 3rd and Final Destination Fort Meade Relocaiton Fair at DISA Skyline 7 in Falls Church Va. The fair was open to all DISA, MDA and DoD Adjudications employees affted by BRAC. More than 700 employees attended the event that showcased 40 Fort Meade regional exhibitors, who gave a better understanding and perspective of the area where they would soon work and live.

Exhibitors included residential realtors, housing communities, extended stay properties, apartments, public school systems, two-year and four-year colleges, Fort Meade installation services available inside the gate, Fort Meade businesses and services outside the gate, local transportation resources and Maryland’s labor, education, housing and economic development departments.

In addition to the exhibitors, the Relocation Fair offered attendees informational Q&A sessions about housing and transportation. "Transportation Alternatives to Fort Meade: Time & Cost Saving Options for Commuters," an in-depth discussion of the MTA’s rail, bus, car/van pool and transit benefits available for Fort Meade commuters, was presented by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). "Housing Options at Fort Meade and Surrounding Communities: What You Should Know Before Purchasing a Home" was presented by Fort George G. Meade Housing Office.
