Two New Members Appointed to Fort Meade Alliance Board

The Fort Meade Alliance (FMA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors effective March 7, 2018.

The new Board members are John McBeth, President and CEO (and Co-Founder) of Next Century Corporation and Gregory R. Prossner, Vice President of Asset Management/Leasing for Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT).

“The FMA Board is excited to welcome these two leaders,” said FMA President Steve Tiller. “Their expertise will support our mission to promote Fort George G. Meade as a growing regional economic asset and provide impact to the region through programs and initiatives.”

John McBeth

McBeth has been a senior executive in high-technology services firms for over forty years. He is the Co-Founder of Next Century, a technology company that provides information to decision makers in ways that are highly intuitive and actionable. During his career, he has been involved in the startup, growth, initial public offering and sale of several technology companies. He holds a B.S. in Physics/Engineering from Loyola College of Maryland and a Masters in Business (MAS) from The Johns Hopkins University. In addition, McBeth is a founder and leader of DreamBuilders, an interfaith community of teens and adults building and restoring homes for those in need.

Gregory Prossner

Prossner is responsible for the financial performance of a portfolio of COPT buildings located within Maryland, The District of Columbia, and Virginia. He has over 18 years of commercial real estate experience which covers office and industrial development, leasing, and property and asset management. Prossner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hobart College. He is an active member in the Maryland Chapter of NAIOP, a supporter of local Wounded Veterans charities, and a 2014 member of the Anne Arundel County Flagship Leadership Class.

The Fort Meade Alliance Board of Directors consists of 25 members, representing a diverse group of industries in the Fort Meade region. The members of the Executive Committee are: President Steven Tiller, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston; FMA President-Elect Doreen Harwood, Leidos; Vice President and Treasurer Joseph Pacileo, IronNet Cybersecurity; Membership Chair Hubert Braithwaite, Energy Network; Education & Workforce Development Chair Penny Cantwell, Howard Bank; Military & Family Chair Lisa Decker, Whiting-Turner Contracting Company; Transportation Chair Stuart Title, AJ Properties; FMA Foundation President Deon Viergutz, Lockheed Martin Corp. and Tim O’Ferrall is an Ex-Officio member.

In addition to the Executive Committee, the remaining Board is made up of: Dr. Michael Cataldo, Kennedy Krieger Institute; Kevin Crain, University of Maryland Medical System; Bill Dunahoo, Praxis Engineering; Dr. Dawn Lindsay, Anne Arundel Community College; David Mazzuca, NTC Mazzuca Contracting, Inc.; Kenneth McCreedy, Maryland Department of Commerce; Dr. Maureen McMahon, Anne Arundel County Public Schools; Will Metts, Northrop Grumman; Julie Mussog, Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation; Jenny Smith, Raytheon Company; Larry Twele, Howard County Economic Development Authority; Anne Wagner, Wavestrike; Spencer Wilcox, Exelon Corporation and Steve Zotti, Ciena Government Solutions.
