THE EDUCATION & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
This committee is tasked with the planning and implementing of events concerning the education and workforce issues in our region. This committee has developed Project SCOPE, a security clearance education and awareness initiative for grades 7-12, college graduates and professionals re-entering the job market. The committee has created Tech Mania and STEM Family Night to bolster students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Four white papers have been published with the oversight of this committee.

THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
This committee takes on legislative issues regarding the Fort Meade region and our members. It is responsible for monitoring and supporting federal priorities. The committee is tasked with preparing the necessary documents for our Federal delegates ensuring that they understand the budgetary needs of Fort George G. Meade. This committee meets with state and federal delegations
annually and as requested.

THE MEADE BUSINESS CONNECT COMMITTEE
This committee assists companies with targeted information on more than 115 government agencies and organizations of Fort Meade and the region’s prime contractors, focused mentoring/protégé programs, educational outreach including networking events and forums, market analysis of the agencies and organizations at Fort Meade and the FMA Member Capabilities
Exchange, which will offer detailed information about FMA member companies.

THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
This committee is charged with growing and maintaining membership and ensuring current and future members actively contribute to achieving the Alliance’s mission. This committee is responsible for member events such as the Fort Meade Bus Tour and the New Member Orientation.

THE MILITARY AND FAMILY COMMITTEE
This committee focuses on providing support and assistance to Fort George G. Meade service personnel and their families. The Alliance led the community effort to outfit the new Soldier and Family Assistance Center at Fort Meade in support of the Wounded Warriors. The Alliance also provides assistance with bulk delivery of monthly snacks available to the soldiers as they wait for their appointments. The Committee is currently undertaking an effort to build a Resiliency Campus on Fort Meade.

THE RISING STAR NETWORK
A new FMA initiative indentifying the region’s emerging leaders and engaging them in FMA activities. The initiative targets young professionals 35 years or younger, offering cross-industry networking opportunities, mentorship activities, educational programming, volunteer opportunities and more.

THE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
This committee focuses on the priorities that parallel the interests of the Installation and the community regarding transportation needs and sees that these priorities are communicated to planners in each of Maryland’s transportation modes. The committee produced a transportation guide on how to get on Fort Meade, which includes information on bus routes, MARC schedules,
vanpools, bike routes and other transportation resources. The guide is updated regularly.
