While addressing issues and barriers in expanding the talent pipeline, we are also focused on helping the workforce with their growth whether it’s providing apprenticeships as a stepping stone for a career or introducing students to career possibilities through panel discussions.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships allow companies and organizations to grow their workforce starting from the beginning and develop a reliable, consistent, recruitment pipeline that can target short and long-term needs. Local community colleges partner with the FMA and our member organizations with a goal of creating customized apprenticeship programs in the fields of Cyber Security and Information Technology.

Impact: This is a new program that will provide lasting benefits for students and area businesses.

Career Panels

Our industry experts provide insights and subject matter expertise to the classrooms using panel discussions or strategic planning meetings. We provide career pathway advisory to schools on the skills and certifications in demand in our region.

Impact: Leaders from FMA businesses have shared their knowledge at high schools and colleges throughout Maryland.
