While addressing issues and barrier in expanding the talent pipeline, we are also focused on helping the workforce with their growth whether it’s providing apprenticeships as a stepping stone for a career or helping transitioning military members into the workforce.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships allow companies and organizations to grow their workforce starting from the beginning and develop a reliable, consistent, recruitment pipeline that can target short and long-term needs. Local community colleges partner with the FMA and our member organizations with a goal of creating customized apprenticeship programs in the fields of Cyber Security and Information Technology.

Impact: This is a new program that will provide lasting benefits for students and area businesses.

Career Transition Program

The Career Transition Program prepares transitioning military members, their spouses and veterans to enter the civilian workforce and find gainful employment with local/regional employers. The program is comprised of a series of educational workshops, provided in partnership with FMA member organizations, to elevate preparedness for interviewing and ultimately start a career with employers in the Fort Meade Region.

Potential candidates will be matched with local employers for interviews during a full-day showcase on April 25, 2024.
