Meal in a Mug

A fast, fun and valuable class that teaches how accessible healthy eating and cooking can be. Designed with the single service member in mind, Meal in a Mug shows one how to make a nutritionally balanced meal with just a mug and a minifridge. The classes, led by a trained nutritionist, are hosted monthly by the Fort Meade Alliance at the Education and Resiliency Center.

Family Cooking Class

The Fort Meade Alliance has partnered with Healthy Little Cooks, a nonprofit that teaches healthy cooking, to run a free family cooking class at Fort Meade. Participating families have the opportunity to cook, eat and learn together as well as take home a free bag of groceries.

Future family cooking classes are being planned for August and September. For more information, please contact Audrey Borba at aborba@ftmeadealliance.org.

Curriculum

In partnership with the former Maryland University of Integrative Health, the Fort Meade Alliance developed curriculum for the Meal in a Mug classes and beyond. This curriculum is also used by the Fort Meade Wellness Center in their Navigating Organizational Wellness (NOW) trainings.
