FMA Program Targets Young Leaders

The Fort Meade Alliance is looking for your company’s young leaders to participate in our newest initiative. The Rising Star Network, which targets young professionals 35 years or younger, is an opportunity for the next generation of leaders to collaborate, build relationships and grow professionally.

“This is an exciting new initiative for the FMA and a great opportunity for member companies to encourage young professionals to pursue professional development opportunities and support the missions and military families at Fort George G. Meade,” FMA President Steve Tiller said.

Help us identify the emerging leaders within your organization and encourage them to participate in the FMA’s Rising Star Network. The first Meade Mentors event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Praxis Engineering.

The event will provide emerging leaders from FMA member companies with the opportunity to network and gain insights from senior leaders in the Fort Meade community. Fort George G. Meade Garrison Commander Col. Brian Foley will provide an overview of the vital missions and ongoing growth at Fort Meade. Following the presentation, the Rising Stars will break into small groups with targeted mentors and FMA Board members to discuss industry trends, career advice, professional development and more across industries such as construction, commercial real estate, military, Department of Defense, government contracting and more.

Confirmed mentors include:

  • Bill Barroll, Senior Vice President, Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT)
  • Lisa Decker, Senior Project Manager, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company
  • Bill Dunahoo, President, Praxis Engineering
  • Col. Brian Foley, FGGM Garrison Commander
  • Doreen E. Harwood, Senior Vice President, Leidos
  • Deon Viergutz, Vice President, Lockheed Martin
