FMA Plans Relaxation Station to Thank Military Spouses

The Fort Meade Alliance’s Military & Family Committee will host a Relaxation Station for military spouses during the Fort George G. Meade Military Spouse Job Fair on Wednesday, May 4.

This is the fourth consecutive year that FMA has supported the event by providing an area the spouses can go to get away from the bustle of the job fair to network with other spouses and enjoy food, beverages and door prizes donated by FMA member companies. In addition to the food and prizes, the FMA promotes the resources available on post that support the five pillars of resiliency: Family, Emotional, Physical, Spiritual and Social.

Last year’s event was a huge success, attracting more than 300 military spouses. There are a limited number of sponsorship and volunteer opportunities available. We are also looking for door prize donations to give away during the event. If you are interested in supporting the Relaxation Station, please contact Will Burns at wburns@ftmeadealliance.org.

Special thanks to Mission BBQ for its continued support of the event, providing sliders and kettle chips for attending spouses. And, thank you to Corporate Pit Stop for providing seated massages to attending spouses for the second year in a row.

The job fair is being sponsored by DLLR, Anne Arundel One Stop Career Centers, Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation, Fleet & Family Support Center, Navy Transition Goals, Plans, Success Program, Army Community Service and Fort Meade MWR. The event will be held from 8 am to 12 pm on Wednesday, May 4, at McGill Training Center.
