Project SCOPE officially made its way to seventh grade this past quarter with our expanded Middle School program.

The FMA has reached more than 500 seventh grade students at Old Mill North Middle School and Meade Middle School. During the presentations, students are equipped with the tools and inspiration necessary to make informed career decisions, demonstrate core values like trustworthiness and reliability, embrace a growth mindset, and develop essential habits for success in middle school.

The students have valuable opportunities to engage with industry professionals through interactive sessions where they can ask questions directly.

During these sessions, experts from various fields describe the importance of building strong character, being responsible with finances, and maintaining a positive presence on social media. They emphasize how these qualities are crucial for personal and professional success, offering real-world insights into how students can develop these skills in their own lives. These real-time interactions have offered students meaningful insights into various career pathways and the wide range of industries available to them.

Through grant funding, the FMA is working with Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corp. to reach all the middle schools in Anne Arundel County. The next presentation will take place at Annapolis Middle School next month.
