Resiliency Roundup

The Fort Meade Alliance had a strong start to the FY27 program year, continuing to engage service members, military families, and community partners through resiliency programming and events.

At the 3rd Annual CYS Back to School Resource Fair in August, the FMA connected with more than 300 community members and shared valuable resources, including the Resiliency Portal’s new Upcoming Events Calendar. The event provided Fort Meade families with backpacks, school supplies and a warm welcome from local organizations to help ensure a successful start to the school year.

The FMA’s nutritional cooking programs also continue to make a positive impact at Fort Meade. NOW Wellness Ambassadors participate in a Meal in a Mug class during training at Kuhn Hall, while additional sessions are held with various units at barracks across the installation. These hands-on sessions build service members’ confidence and practical skills that support overall well-being.

Family Cooking Classes, offered in partnership with Healthy Little Cooks and sponsored by The Make it Happen Fund and Pn Automation, bring military families together for evenings of nutritious cooking and quality time. The program has held eight classes so far in 2026, involving 120 families. Each family received a bag of fresh, local produce to encourage cooking together at home.

Through these resiliency initiatives and engagement opportunities, the FMA looks forward to continuing to build partnerships and connections with the Fort Meade community throughout the program year.
