Fort Meade Alliance Appoints New Board Members

The Fort Meade Alliance (FMA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors effective October 1, 2016.

The new Board members are Will Metts, Director of Strategy and Program Integration for Cyber and Intelligence Missions Solutions at Northrop Grumman Mission Systemsand Catherine M. Ward, Senior Vice President of Asset Management/Leasing for Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT).

“We are honored to have two amazing individuals join the FMA board,” said FMA President Steve Tiller. “Their expertise and leadership will be a great asset to our organization as we continue to serve Fort George G. Meade and this region.”

Metts is a retired Rear Admiral who served 30 years in the U.S. Navy. He has held a number of key positions including, most recently, Director for Intelligence, U.S. Pacific Command and previously, Deputy Director of Tailored Access Operations, National Security Agency and Director for Intelligence, U.S. Cyber Command. In his current position with Northrop Grumman, Metts has executive responsibility for the integration and growth of the division’s business portfolio including full spectrum cyber, multi-intelligence enterprise data management and integration, as well as mission enabling ISR solutions supporting domestic and international customers.

Ward has over 30 years of real estate experience including 10 years with Constellation Real Estate and four years with a Baltimore developer. Her areas of expertise include retail and office development, redevelopment, leasing, property management and asset management. In her current role with COPT, Ward is responsible for the financial performance for a specific portfolio of office buildings in Howard, Baltimore County and Baltimore City. She also oversees the asset management function in Baltimore County.

The Fort Meade Alliance Board of Directors consists of 23 members, representing a diverse group of industries in the Fort Meade region. The members of the Executive Committee are: President Steven Tiller, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston; Vice President and Treasurer Joseph Pacileo, IronNet Cybersecurity; Secretary Joseph V. Samek, Booz Allen Hamilton; Hubert BraithwaiteLisa Decker, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company; Doreen E. Harwood, Leidos; and Stuart Title, A.J. Properties. FMA Immediate Past-President Deon Viergutz, Lockheed Martin and General Manager Tim O’Ferrall are Ex-Officio members.
