The Fort Meade Alliance (FMA) Executive Committee and Board of Directors have appointed Doreen E. Harwood, Senior Vice President of Leidos as the organization’s President-Elect. Harwood will take over the position from current FMA President Steve Tiller of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston on July 1, 2018.
“Doreen is a quintessential leader,” said Tiller. “Since joining the FMA Board, she has exemplified all of the qualities needed to lead the FMA and continue to build on its strong foundation.”
Doreen currently serves as the Defense and Intelligence (D&I) Operations Manager responsible for bringing Cyber & SIGINT Solutions (CSS) to the National Security Agency, USCYBERCOM and the Cyber Service Component Commands.
Harwood joined the FMA board in 2015 and was appointed to the Executive Committee last year.
“As the daughter of a proud, retired Army service member stationed at Fort Meade, I am ecstatic to be able to give back to the Fort Meade community in this role,” Harwood said.
Doreen joined Leidos in May 2015 following more than 35 years of government service. Most recently, she served as the Program Executive Office (PEO), the largest PEO within the National Security Agency (NSA) supporting the Capabilities and Research Directorates. Previous assignments included leadership positions within NSA Operations; assignment to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, USD (AT&L) facilitating Defense-wide Acquisition Reform; and an overseas tour at NSA/CSS Pacific implementing initial expansion of the now distributed cryptologic enterprise.
In addition to her position at the Fort Meade Alliance, Doreen serves on the University of Maryland Cyber Security Center and is active in local, county and state initiatives furthering STEM & Cyber education.
