Fort Meade Alliance Welcomes Two New Board Members

The Fort Meade Alliance (FMA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors effective ­July 1, 2021.

The new Board members are Kathy Castellano Burk, Vice President/Executive Director of Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation and Kendra Parlock, Executive Director of NPower Maryland.

“We are so happy to add Kathy’s and Kendra’s talents and passion for the Fort Meade Community to our organization,” said FMA President Doreen Harwood. “We are looking forward to working with them as we continue our mission to serve the Fort Meade region.”


Burk oversees fundraising and community partnership efforts for UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center and the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation, where she has developed and implemented an $8 million major giving campaign for campus expansions and “people-oriented” programs.

Parlock is responsible for leading a 14-person team providing instruction, social support and placement to 200 jobseekers annually at NPower Maryland.

The Fort Meade Alliance Board of Directors consists of 27 members, representing a diverse group of industries in the Fort Meade region. The members of the Executive Committee are: President Doreen Harwood, DEHarwood, LLC; Vice President Joseph Pacileo, IronNet Cybersecurity; Treasurer Jay Baldwin, Atlantic Union Bank; Secretary Will Metts, Amazon Web Services; Education & Workforce Development Chair Penny Cantwell, Sandy Spring Bank; FMA Ambassador Co-Chair Diana Gresham, Bridges Consulting Inc.; FMA Foundation President Deon Viergutz, Lockheed Martin Corp.; Steven Tiller, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston and Tim O’Ferrall is an Ex-Officio member.
